Inaccurate data
If you make a subject access request and find that a
person or organisation is holding inaccurate data about you, you should first write to them to try to get
them to amend their records. If that fails, you can either:
- seek redress in the court, which can amend the data, or
- ask the Information Commissioner
to assess your case. The Commissioner will decide whether the
processing of your data has been carried out in accordance with the Data
Protection Act.
